Colonia, Uruguay. Colonia was a very quiet small scale town, there were dogs roaming the streets which was very neat and it was great being there. there was water everywhere and at night you could see the lights from Buenos Aires across the river.
Gathering space at the architecture school in Montevideo, Uruguay. It’s awesome that all the classrooms are open to the outdoors and the space here was very good. It seems that many things could happen in this area, but on an everyday basis the students just hang out in the space.
El Águila, (The Eagle) a house built by the Atlantic. Very neat in the way it was constructed using rocks and things. I liked the way it rises up out of the ground and overlooks the ocean allowing for some great views.
Parroquia del Cristo Obrero. Architect: Eladio Dieste. I really liked this church, mainly because of its simplicity. Nothing too extravagant is going on, it’s just a unique way of constructing the walls. Great design here. I also liked the use of the colored glass in the windows. Everything here was just perfect and the church fit well with it’s surrounding area which was more rural.
Photos from Valpraiso. The coolest thing about the city was the way that all the houses and buildings where built up the mountains and on top of each other. I thought it was amazing that from almost anywhere in the city you had a view of the ocean. Very cool. The graffiti here was also very nice
